1) How many switches can an Alarm Controls DTC desktop console have, and how do I pick between the M1, M2 and M3?

Alternate action switches toggle between open and closed with each press and stay there, so they suit unlocking a door for a period, putting a device into a held state, or any function an operator sets and walks away from. You specify momentary or alternate, and SPDT or DPDT, per order.
3) Can the DTC desktop console switch my maglocks and electric strikes directly, or do I need a relay?
Contacts are rated 3A at 24 VDC. A typical 12 or 24 VDC maglock or electric strike draws well under that, so the console switch can break the lock power line directly. Anything above 3A, or any AC line voltage load, needs an interposing relay driven by the console contact instead. Ordering DPDT rather than SPDT gives you a second isolated set of contacts on the same button, which is how you release a door and signal an access panel or recorder from one press.
4) How do I wire an Alarm Controls DTC console, and what do the lead colors mean?
Each switch is terminated in 22 AWG colored 12 in. flying leads, so you land them on a terminal strip or splice in a box behind the desk rather than punching down at the console. Color code: white is common, red is normally closed, blue is normally open, yellow is LED positive and black is LED negative.
