Alarm Controls RP Series - Remote Plates - Single Gang, Stainless Steel Wall Plate, Red LED

It comes down to the lock cylinder you are mounting. The RP-07 has a "D" hole for an Ace lock; the RP-08 has a double "D" hole for a Medeco lock. Both are single gang satin stainless plates with a 1/4 inch red LED, so the only difference that matters is the cutout. Match it to the cylinder you already have or the one your keying system is standardized on.

It is a single gang plate, so it mounts to a standard single gang box or mud ring. That is the normal rough-in an electrician already sets for a card reader or push button location, which is why these get specified on remote release points instead of a custom cut plate.

The RP-07 is the plate with the LED and the "D" hole prepped for an Ace lock. The keyed cylinder itself is a separate item, so specify the lock alongside the plate when you order, and confirm the cylinder body matches the "D" cutout (double "D" and Medeco is the RP-08 instead).

Within the Alarm Controls RP series, the RP-07 is punched with a "D" hole for an Ace lock and the RP-08 with a double "D" hole for a Medeco lock; both are satin stainless steel single gang plates with a 1/4 inch red LED running on 12/24 VDC. The ACSI 1340-1 peer is a single gang wall mount plate carrying one LED in red or green, so match the plate to the cylinder body you are installing.

Commercial. The RP plates are built as commercial door hardware, with a satin stainless steel face rather than a painted or plastic wall plate, which is what holds up in a corridor, lobby, or back-of-house location where the plate gets handled daily.

The RP-07 and RP-08 are built with a 1/4 inch red LED. The RP Series itself is offered in other LED sizes and colors, and in slimline as well as single gang bodies, with or without a lock hole, so if the job calls for green or a different size, order the RP Series variant that carries it rather than these two.
