1) What does KAMK mean on the American Lock A1305KAMK padlock?
KAMK means keyed alike and master keyed. Every lock on the order opens with the same change key, and all of them also open under a master key, so a maintenance supervisor carries one key for the whole group while tenants or crews carry the common change key. If you need each lock to have its own key under a master, that is the A1305MK. Keyed alike with no master is the A1305KA, and if you want to bit them yourself, order the uncombinated A1305UN or zero-bitted A1305KZ.
2) Will a 3/8 inch shackle fit my hasp or locker latch?
The shackle on this 2 inch aluminum padlock is 3/8 inch in diameter with a 3/4 inch clearance between the legs and 1-1/8 inch of vertical clearance under the crossbar. So the hasp staple or latch opening has to pass a 3/8 inch bar, and the material you are locking through has to fit inside a 3/4 by 1-1/8 inch window. Common self-storage and locker hasps take it; heavy gate chain or a thick multi-point hasp often will not.
3) How do American Lock A1305, A1306 and A1307 padlocks differ?
All three are 2 inch wide solid aluminum rekeyable padlocks from the same family; the difference is shackle height. The A1305 is the 1-1/8 inch shackle. Step up to the A1306 or A1307 when you need more clearance to get through a thicker hasp, a chain link or a gate bracket. The ABUS T84MB/30 Nautic is a sleeved padlock with a 13/64 inch shackle diameter and a 1-17/64 inch body, a much lighter lock than the A1305KAMK, which is a 2 inch wide solid aluminum body with a 3/8 inch boron alloy steel shackle.
