1) What does "keyed alike master keyed" mean on the American Lock A1367KAMK, and do I have to give a key code when I order?
Keyed alike master keyed means every lock on the order operates on the same change key, and all of them also open under a master key so a supervisor or maintenance lead carries one key for the group. 5) Can an ABUS 72/30 aluminum safety padlock be used in place of the American Lock A1367KAMK?
They are both anodized aluminum but they are not the same class of lock. The A1367KAMK has a 2 inch wide body, a 3/8 inch shackle diameter and a 3 inch shackle length, built for self-storage, lockers and outdoor security use. The ABUS 72/30 is a safety padlock with a 1-1/4 inch body width and a 3/16 inch shackle diameter, sized for lockout-tagout on breakers and valves. If the hasp was cut for the American Lock the 72/30 shackle will be loose and undersized in it.

All three are the same 2 inch wide solid aluminum rekeyable family; the difference is shackle length. The A1367 carries a 3 inch shackle, the longest of the three, which is what you want for thick hasps, gate chains and shrouded staples. Each of the three is offered keyed different, keyed alike, uncombinated, zero-bitted, master keyed and keyed alike master keyed.
12) What should I use instead of the A1367KAMK if I need a key-retaining padlock so the key cannot be removed while the lock is open?
