1) Will the American Lock A30 padlock fit a standard self-storage hasp opening?
The A30 gives you a 1-1/2 inch wide aluminum body with a 1/4 inch diameter shackle, 1 inch of shackle clearance (length) and 3/4 inch between the shackle legs. That 3/4 inch shackle width is the number that decides hasp fit: the staple or hasp eye has to sit within 3/4 inch, and the 1 inch clearance has to clear the thickness of the hasp plus the staple.
