Hammer drive anchors like the J141F are pin-drive anchors set in a drilled hole in masonry base material, so concrete, block and brick are all normal substrates. What decides it is embedment: with a 1 inch overall length, part of that inch is taken up by the thickness of whatever you are fastening, so on hollow block you want the hole in the solid web, not the cell. For anything thicker than light sheet metal strap or a conduit clip, step up to a longer anchor.

Drill 1/4 inch, matching the anchor diameter, and drill the hole deeper than the anchor so the pin has somewhere to go. Clean the dust out before setting; on a 1 inch anchor there is very little embedment to spare, and dust in the bottom of the hole is the usual reason one of these spins loose.

The flat head on the J141F is countersunk-style, so it sits low against the fixture instead of standing proud like a mushroom head. That matters when you are fastening something that has a countersunk hole, or when the anchor head sits in a traffic path or behind a cover plate and cannot be a bump. If the fixture has a plain punched hole and you want maximum bearing area on the head, a mushroom head drive anchor is the better pick.

Zinc plated steel, which is a dry indoor-duty finish. It is fine for interior walls, ceilings and mechanical rooms, but for exterior walls, parking structures, wet locations or anywhere chlorides are present, specify a stainless anchor instead. Property managers standardizing one anchor across a building should keep the zinc plated version for inside work only.

Not practically. A drive anchor is a permanent fastener: once the pin is hammered home it expands the body in the hole and there is no screw head to back out. If the strap, box or bracket is going to be serviced or relocated, use a removable anchor with a machine screw or a tapcon-style screw anchor instead. Use the J141F where the attachment stays put.
