Metallics DPL3 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many pins come in a pack of Metallics DPL3 drive anchors?
Each DPL3 pack holds 50 pieces, so one order covers a run of strap, clamp or box mounting without re-ordering mid job.
2) Do hand drive pins need an anchor setting tool or a powder actuated gun?
No gun needed. The DPL3 is a hand drive pin, meaning you drill the 1/4 inch hole and set the pin with a hammer. If you are fastening to steel deck or want to fire fasteners without pre-drilling, a powder actuated or gas tool fastener is the different product you want instead.
3) What are Metallics DPL3 drive pins used for on an electrical job?
They are an electrical fastener for anchoring light items to masonry or concrete, conduit straps, device and junction boxes, clamps and hangers. With 1 inch of length the DPL3 is a shallow embedment anchor, so it suits surface mounted supports rather than structural or heavy overhead loads.
