Metallics JSMW3816SS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size threaded rod does the Metallics JSMW3816SS wood anchor take?
The JSMW3816SS is a 3/8 inch threaded rod anchor. It is the vertical-mount wood type, meaning it drives into wood structure (joists, blocking, or timber) and presents a 3/8 inch female thread to hang all-thread rod for conduit, strut, or fixture support.
2) Can I use the Metallics JSMW3816SS anchor in concrete or steel deck?
No. This is a wood anchor, so it belongs in wood framing only. For a 3/8 inch rod drop into concrete you want a concrete rod hanger or drop-in anchor, and for bar joist or steel beam you want a beam clamp or C-clamp rated for the rod size. Putting a wood-thread anchor in anything but wood gives you no reliable pullout value.
3) How many anchors come in a jar of Metallics JSMW3816SS?
Twenty-five anchors per jar. That is the selling unit, so an electrical contractor laying out a run of 3/8 inch rod drops for conduit or lighting should figure hanger count first and order jars against it rather than pieces.
4) Is the Metallics JSMW3816SS made in the USA?
Yes, the JSMW3816SS 3/8 inch wood threaded-rod anchor is a USA-made part, which matters on federal, municipal, and other domestic-preference jobs where the spec calls out country of origin on hangers and fasteners.
