2) Can I use the Metallics 1208SS lag shield in concrete block and brick, or is it concrete only?
Lag shields like the 1208SS are made for solid masonry base material: poured concrete, brick, and the solid webs of concrete block. They do not work in hollow block cells, drywall, or wood, because the shield needs a surrounding mass to expand against. In hollow block, either hit a solid web or switch to a toggle-style hollow wall anchor.
3) Is the Metallics 1208SS sold individually or by the box?
The 1208SS lag screw shield ships 100 pieces to the pack, so it is a box quantity rather than a single anchor. That suits an electrician setting strut, conduit straps, or panel backing across a run of masonry where you are drilling dozens of holes in a day.
