Order the bolts separately. A strap toggle is supplied as the toggle assembly only, so you pick the 1/4-20 machine screw or hex bolt in the length you need: fixture thickness plus wall thickness plus enough thread to fully engage the channel nut. Grip length is what decides it, so measure the wall before you buy the screws.

A strap toggle like the NT1425J is for hollow-wall work where you cannot get a spring-wing toggle in or out cleanly, drywall, hollow block, and hollow tile. The plastic straps hold the steel channel nut flat against the back of the wall while you snap them off, which means the fastener can be removed and reinstalled later without the nut dropping into the cavity. A spring-wing toggle is cheaper, but the wings fall inside the moment you back the bolt out. For solid concrete or brick, neither applies; use a sleeve or wedge anchor instead.

The anchor body is steel with a zinc plating, which is the standard interior/dry-to-mildly-damp finish. Zinc plate handles indoor humidity and occasional condensation, but it is not a stainless or hot-dip part, so for exterior, coastal, or wash-down areas specify a stainless toggle instead.

That is the intended use. The NT1425J is carried as an electrical fastener, and a 1/4-20 strap toggle is what gets used to mount device boxes, small panels, unistrut, and conduit clamp backplates to hollow walls and block where no stud or solid substrate is available. Because the channel nut stays put, you can remove and remount the same fixture during rough-in and trim-out.

Drill a hole large enough to pass the folded steel channel nut, fold the nut along the straps and push it through the wall, then pull the straps back toward you so the nut seats flat against the back face. Slide the plastic cap down the straps until it is tight to the wall surface, snap the straps off flush, then set your fixture and thread the 1/4-20 bolt into the nut. The nut stays captured behind the wall for future removal.
