Metallics WAK14D – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size anchors come in the Metallics WAK14D wall anchor kit?
The WAK14D is a 1/4 inch red plastic wall anchor kit from Metallics. The 1/4 inch figure is the anchor size, so it pairs with screws sized for a 1/4 inch plastic expansion anchor in drywall, plaster, or masonry.
2) Is the WAK14D a plastic anchor or a metal expansion anchor?
Plastic. The Metallics WAK14D uses red plastic expansion anchors, which are the light-duty type you set in a drilled hole and expand with a screw. For structural or heavy overhead loads in concrete, a metal expansion or wedge anchor is the correct choice instead.
3) How is the Metallics WAK14D anchor kit packaged for job-box or shop stocking?
The WAK14D ships as a clamshell kit of 10 anchors, with 200 clamshells to the case. If you are stocking a truck or a maintenance shop, one clamshell covers a small job and the 200-pack case is the bulk buy for a counter display or crib.
