Metallics JTA14212 Anchors 1/4 X 2-1/2 Hllw Block T-Ancr (Jar 25)

The JTA14212 is a 1/4 inch diameter anchor with a 2-1/2 inch length, built as a hollow block toggle anchor. The 2-1/2 inch length is what carries the toggle through the face shell of a hollow block or masonry wall so it can spring open in the void behind it, so your combined fixture and base-material thickness has to leave room for that travel.

No. The JTA14212 is a toggle-type anchor for hollow base materials, meaning hollow concrete block and similar walls with a void behind the face shell. It needs that cavity for the toggle to open and grip. For solid concrete or solid brick you want a wedge or sleeve anchor or a screw anchor instead, not a toggle.

Each jar holds 25 of the 1/4 x 2-1/2 hollow block toggle anchors. The jar pack is useful for a service van or a maintenance shop where you are hanging conduit straps, boxes, and small equipment on block walls a few fasteners at a time rather than by the case.

The JTA14212 is supplied as a complete 1/4 x 2-1/2 toggle anchor, so the screw or bolt element and the toggle come together as the anchor assembly. What is not included is anything behind the fastener on the job, such as straps, clamps, or hangers for the item you are mounting, and you will need a drill bit sized for the anchor body to make the hole in the block.

Order Metallics part number JTA14212. That covers the 1/4 x 2-1/2 hollow block toggle anchor in the 25 count jar, and it is the only configuration under that number, so there is no length or finish option to specify with it.

They are electrical-trade fasteners, used for mounting to hollow block walls: conduit straps and clamps, device and junction boxes, panel and enclosure backing, strut, and light fixtures. The 1/4 inch body is the common size for that kind of light to moderate hanging work on block.
