Metallics J1116 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size anchor is the Metallics J1116, and how many come in a jar?
The Metallics J1116 is a 5/16 x 2-1/2 inch orange collarless anchor, packed 50 to a jar. Order quantity is by the jar, so one unit gives you 50 anchors for the job.
2) Is the J1116 anchor collarless, and why does that matter for a flush mount?
Collarless, yes. There is no shoulder or lip at the top of the anchor body, so it seats fully into the drilled hole and sits flush with the base material instead of standing proud under the fixture or strap you are mounting. Collared anchors need the mounted part to clear that lip.
3) Are these Metallics anchors meant for electrical mounting work?
Yes. The J1116 is an electrical fastener, the kind of anchor used to hang boxes, straps, conduit clamps and device plates on masonry and concrete. At 5/16 x 2-1/2 inches it is a heavier anchor than the small plastic plugs used for light-duty wall mounting.
