1) What size hole do I drill for a Metallics J7554SS 3/4 inch sleeve anchor?
The J7554SS is a 3/4 x 6-1/4 inch sleeve anchor, so it is drilled with a 3/4 inch carbide bit. Sleeve anchors take a hole the same nominal diameter as the anchor, and the hole should run deeper than the embedment so debris has somewhere to go. With a 6-1/4 inch overall length, subtract your fixture thickness to work out how much of the anchor is left in the concrete.
2) Is the Metallics J7554SS sleeve anchor stainless steel, and can it go outdoors?
Stainless steel, which is why it gets specified for exterior pads, wet wells, pool decks, coastal work and anywhere a plated carbon anchor would bleed rust onto concrete. For mounting strut, enclosures or equipment bases outside, this is the corrosion grade to use.
3) How does a hex nut sleeve anchor differ from a wedge anchor or a drop-in anchor?
A sleeve anchor like the J7554SS expands a split sleeve along the full grip length, so it works in solid concrete as well as block and brick, and the hex nut lets you snug the fixture and back it off later. A wedge anchor expands only at the tip and is for solid concrete only. A drop-in is set flush and threaded internally, so you bolt into it rather than through a projecting stud. If you are anchoring into hollow or grouted block, the sleeve is the one of the three that belongs there.
4) How many anchors come in the Metallics J7554SS and how are they packaged?
