Wedge anchors like the JTS380G are made for solid poured concrete. In hollow CMU block the expansion wedge has nothing solid to bite against in the cells, so use a sleeve anchor or a toggle rated for hollow masonry instead. The 2-1/4 inch length also means you need enough solid concrete depth below the surface for full embedment plus drill clearance, so it is not a choice for thin topping slabs or brick veneer.

Total anchor length is 2-1/4 inches, and that length is split between embedment in the concrete and the thickness of what you are clamping plus the nut and washer. On a 3/8 anchor, most of that 2-1/4 inches goes into the hole, so plan on fastening thin material, strut channel, pipe straps, equipment feet, baseplates, rather than a thick timber or a stacked shim pack. If you need more grip, step up to a longer 3/8 anchor.

The JTS380G carries a galvanized finish, which is the reason to pick it over plain zinc for exterior slabs, parking structures, loading docks, and damp mechanical rooms. For submerged or chemically aggressive environments, stainless is the step up.
