2) Can I use the Metallics TS510 wedge anchor in block or brick instead of poured concrete?
Wedge anchors are a solid-concrete fastener. The expansion clip needs continuous dense material to bite into, so hollow block, brick and grout-filled cells are not the right base for one. For those, use a sleeve anchor or a screen tube with adhesive instead.
3) Is a zinc plated wedge anchor like the TS510 OK for outdoor or wet locations?
Zinc plating is a mild corrosion coating meant for dry interior service. The TS510 is zinc plated steel, so for exterior, damp, or chemically exposed concrete you want a stainless or hot dip galvanized wedge anchor rather than this one.
4) Can I remove a wedge anchor like this after it is set?
No. Once the clip expands, the TS510 is permanent. The nut and washer come off, but the body stays in the concrete, so it has to be cut flush or driven below the surface if you need the slab clear. If you want a removable fastener, use a drop-in anchor with a machine bolt instead.
