Metallics MAU8 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How many anchors come in a jar of Metallics MAU8?
Each jar holds 100 of the MAU8 anchors, packed as a jar rather than a loose box, so it stays sorted in a gang box or on a van shelf. For an electrician setting dozens of device boxes, straps, or small brackets per floor, one jar covers a typical day's rough-in run.
2) What is a Mungo A anchor used for on an electrical rough-in?
Mungo A style anchors like the Metallics MAU8 are plug anchors for light-duty fastening into masonry and similar solid base material. You drill the hole, tap the anchor flush, then drive a #8 screw to expand it. Typical electrical use is mounting conduit straps, small junction and device boxes, low voltage plates, and cable clips. For heavier loads such as panelboards or strut, step up to a sleeve or wedge type anchor instead.
