1) Will the Arrow 100C cylinder work in my Arrow MK Series knob lock?
Yes, as long as the knob is a T (Tudor) or D (Derby) style. The Arrow 100C is a conventional key-in-knob cylinder built for MK Series Grade 1 cylindrical locks and machined to the internal dimensions of those two knob designs. One exception: it will not serve the Hotel function, which takes a specialized cylinder.
2) Does the Arrow 100C come keyed to the Arrow J keyway?
It does. The 100C uses the standard Arrow J keyway, so it drops into a facility already running J-keyway keys and master key schedules without changing the key section.
3) What does drilled 6, pinned 5 mean on this Arrow cylinder, and can a locksmith add a sixth pin?
The cylinder body has six pin chambers machined into it, but ships operating on five. That leaves the sixth chamber open for a locksmith to load later if you move to a six-pin master key system or want more differs, without buying a different cylinder. Out of the box it behaves as a standard five-pin J-keyway cylinder.
4) Can the Arrow 100C be used on a hotel function lock?
No. Every MK Series function is covered except Hotel, which needs its own specialized cylinder. If the opening is a guest room lock with the hotel/shut-out function, order the hotel cylinder instead of the 100C.
5) I manage a building with Arrow MK locks and want to rekey a few doors without replacing the locksets. Is this the part?
That is exactly what the 100C is for. It is a replacement or spare conventional cylinder for MK Series cylindrical locks, so you swap the cylinder in the knob rather than pulling the whole lockset.
