Arrow E61-TDP 26D – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the Arrow E61-TDP thick door pack actually do?
The E61-TDP is a conversion kit that lets an Arrow E61 lock be installed on a door thicker than the standard the lock ships for, up to 2-1/4 inches. It supplies the longer hardware components needed so the lock reaches through and assembles correctly on an oversized door. It is a replacement accessory, not a lock, so you still need the E61 lock itself.
2) My commercial doors are 1-3/4 inches thick. Do I need the E61-TDP?
No. 1-3/4 inches is the standard commercial door thickness and a stock E61 lock handles it as supplied. The thick door pack is only for openings that run past standard, up to 2-1/4 inches, which usually turns up on heavy industrial doors, upgraded fire-rated assemblies, or renovated profiles.
3) My door is 2-1/2 inches thick. Can I still use this Arrow kit?
No. The E61-TDP tops out at 2-1/4 inches of door thickness. Past that, the pack's components will not reach and you need a different solution for the opening.
4) If I'm standardizing E61 locks across a building with mixed door thicknesses, what do I order?
Order the E61 locks as normal for your 1-3/4 inch openings, then add one E61-TDP pack for each door that runs thicker, up to 2-1/4 inches. That keeps a single lock series and keyway across the facility while handling the odd oversized opening. Specify the pack in the same finish as the locks on those doors.
5) Is the Arrow E61-TDP suitable for a residential door?
It is classed as commercial hardware, made for E61 lock installations in offices, schools, healthcare, retail, warehouse, and municipal buildings. It works on multi-tenant residential doors that have been upgraded to commercial profiles, but it is not a consumer-grade part.
