Arrow S51 BRZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exit device do the Arrow S51-BRZ thru-bolts fit?
The S51-BRZ thru-bolts are made for the Arrow S1150 exit device series. They are genuine Arrow parts for that series, so if you are servicing an S1150 device they are the correct fastening kit. For any other Arrow series, order the thru-bolt part called out for that device instead.
2) What finish do the Arrow S51 thru-bolts come in, and will they match my bronze exit device trim?
One finish only: 690 Dark Bronze Painted. That is meant to coordinate with matching Dark Bronze exit device trim, so the exposed fastener heads blend with the device rather than standing out. If your S1150 devices are in a different finish, this is not the finish code you want.
3) Are these thru-bolts a replacement part or an upgrade kit?
Strictly a replacement part. The S51-BRZ is the standard thru-bolt set for the S1150, supplied for service and maintenance when the original fasteners are lost, stripped, or corroded. It does not change how the device mounts or add any function.
4) I am standardizing exit device spares across a building. What do I order to keep S1150 fasteners on the shelf?
Arrow model S51 BRZ is the part designation for the standard S1150 thru-bolts in Dark Bronze Painted. Stocking it by that model number keeps your fastener spares matched to the S1150 devices and to the bronze trim already hung, which is the point of sourcing genuine Arrow parts rather than generic bolts.
5) Are Arrow S51 thru-bolts suitable for high-traffic commercial doors, or are they light-duty residential hardware?
Commercial-grade, not residential. Arrow lists the S51 as commercial door hardware, and it is the fastening used in office buildings, schools, healthcare, retail, warehouses, multi-tenant residential and government facilities where the exit device gets cycled all day.
