B-LINE 10250T75B – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the 10250T75B a maintained or momentary button?
Momentary. Press and the 1NO contact closes, release and it opens again. It will not stay latched in, so don't use it where you need a maintained on/off selector position.
2) What voltage is the light in this illuminated pushbutton?
The lamp circuit on the 10250T75B is 120 Vac, using an incandescent lamp with a transformer. Feed the light from a 120 V control circuit; a 24 V control scheme needs a different light unit.
3) Can this pushbutton go in a washdown or outdoor enclosure?
Yes, within the enclosure's own rating. The operator carries NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings, so it handles rain, hosedown, corrosive washdown areas, and dust or oil in industrial panels.
4) Does the 10250T75B come assembled or do I have to build it up from an operator and contact block?
It ships assembled: extended blue plastic actuator, chrome bezel, illuminated light unit and one normally open contact, ready to mount. No separate operator, lamp module or contact block to order.
5) What does an extended actuator mean, and should I use one on a machine panel?
Extended means the button head stands out past the bezel so it can be hit quickly, including with a gloved hand. That also makes it easier to bump accidentally, so for a start command on a machine face many integrators prefer a flush button and save extended heads for frequently used functions. The 10250T75B uses a blue plastic extended head in a chrome bezel.
6) Can I wire the 10250T75B to break a circuit instead of make one?
No. It's supplied with a single normally open contact, so it can only make a circuit when pressed. If you need a normally closed function, such as a stop or interlock, order a device with an NC contact configuration instead.
7) What part number do I order to match the other 10250T buttons in my panel?
Order MPN 10250T75B. It's a B-Line 10250T series heavy-duty 30.5 mm device, so it mounts in the same panel cutouts as the rest of that series.
8) Is a blue pushbutton appropriate for a start button?
Blue is conventionally used for a function requiring mandatory action, such as reset, rather than start (green) or stop (red). If you're standardizing a panel to color convention, the 10250T75B suits reset, acknowledge or auxiliary functions.
