B-LINE 10250T76A – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the 10250T76A illuminated pushbutton be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
Yes. The 10250T76A carries NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 4X, 12 and 13 ratings, which covers outdoor rain and sleet exposure, hosedown, corrosion resistance and dust or oil in industrial plants. It is a reasonable pick for wash-down food plants, exterior control stations and machine panels.
2) What voltage does the lamp in the B-Line 10250T76A run on?
The light unit is 120 Vac, using an incandescent lamp with a transformer. Wire the lamp circuit for 120 Vac control power. On a 24 V control system you would need a different light unit.
3) How many contacts does the 10250T76A pushbutton come with, and can I use it to both start and stop?
It ships as an assembled unit with a 1NO-1NC contact block, so you get one normally open and one normally closed contact on a single operator. That lets you energize one circuit and break another with the same button press, which is the usual arrangement for a start with an interlock or a jog function.
4) Does the 10250T76A button stay in when pressed or spring back?
It is momentary. The extended plastic actuator returns as soon as you let go, so the contacts only change state while the button is held. If you need the button to latch in place, you want a maintained or push-pull operator instead.
5) What color is the B-Line 10250T76A pushbutton and is it lit?
Amber illuminated, with a plastic actuator and a chrome bezel. Amber is normally used for caution, alarm or an abnormal-condition indication rather than start or stop, so it reads clearly on a panel next to green run and red stop buttons.
6) Is the extended actuator on the 10250T76A a problem for accidental operation?
The extended actuator projects past the bezel, so it is easy to hit with a gloved hand or an elbow. That is useful on machine panels where operators wear gloves, but it also means it can be bumped. If the circuit must not be operated by accident, use a flush or guarded actuator rather than the extended style.
