1) Will the B-Line 2245 HSL SIDE elbow fit 2-1/2 inch wireway?
Yes. The 2245 HSL SIDE is a 90 degree side-opening elbow built for 2-1/2 x 2-1/2 inch lay-in wireway, with a stated height and width of 2.5 inches each and a length/depth of 5.325 inches. If your run is 4 x 4 or larger, this is the wrong size fitting.
2) Is this wireway elbow UL Listed and suitable for indoor electrical rooms?
UL Listed, and rated Type 1 (degree of protection 1), which covers general indoor use where there is no washdown, dripping water, or dust exposure. For wet, outdoor, or oily locations you need a Type 3R/4/12 wireway fitting instead.
3) What is the difference between a side-opening and a top-opening 90 degree wireway elbow?
A side-opening 90 degree elbow, which is what the 2245 HSL SIDE is, turns the run in the horizontal plane so the removable cover faces to the side of the turn, letting you lay conductors in around the corner. A top-opening (flat) elbow turns in the vertical plane with the cover on top. Pick the one that matches the plane of your turn, or the cover will end up facing a wall or the ceiling and you lose lay-in access.
4) What material and finish is the B-Line 2245 HSL SIDE elbow, and will it match my existing gray wireway?
It is steel with an ANSI 61 gray painted finish, the standard gray used across Eaton B-Line wireway, so it matches straight sections and other fittings in the same finish on an existing run.
