B-LINE 44120-3RAHS NK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the 44120-3RAHS NK wireway have knockouts for conduit?
No. The NK suffix means no knockouts, so the body comes blank and you punch or drill your own openings where the conduit actually lands. If you want factory knockouts on a pattern, specify a knockout version instead of the NK.
2) Is this a hinged-cover wireway or a screw-cover wireway?
Hinged. The closure type is hinged, so the cover swings open along the run for pulling wire instead of being fully removed. The cover secures to the body with a gasketed retaining stainless steel screw, which keeps the seal intact when it's latched down.
3) Can this wireway be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
The 3R designation covers outdoor use against rain, sleet and falling dirt, and this section is built with a gasketed cover held by a stainless steel retaining screw for that seal. It is not a 4X washdown enclosure, so for hosedown or corrosive duty you want a Type 4 or 4X wireway rather than a 3R.
4) Is the 44120-3RAHS NK wireway approved for Canadian jobs?
It carries CSA C22.2 certification, which is the Canadian standard set inspectors look for, so it can be specified on work north of the border as well as in the US.
5) Do I need couplings and end plates to finish a 4x4 wireway run?
Yes. The 44120-3RAHS NK is a straight 120 inch trough section only. Joining two sections, terminating an end, or turning a corner requires separate 4x4 fittings (connectors, end plates, elbows, tees) from the same Eaton B-Line series so the gasketing and the 3R seal carry through the joint.
6) What color is the B-Line wireway, and will it match existing panels?
ANSI 61 gray, the standard gray used on most industrial panelboards, control cabinets and switchgear, so a run will read as the same color as adjacent electrical equipment in a plant or mechanical room.
