B-LINE B585GRN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the B-Line B585GRN used for?
The B585GRN is a post base for B-Line B22A channel. It anchors a length of B22A strut standing vertically as a post, transferring the load to the floor or slab through the base plate.
2) Will the B585GRN post base fit strut other than B22A?
It is built specifically as a post base for B22A channel, so size it to that section. If your run is a different B-Line channel profile, use the post base matched to that section instead.
3) Is the B585GRN suitable for a damp or corrosive area, or should I use stainless?
The B585GRN is steel with a Dura-Green finish, a coating B-Line applies for added corrosion resistance over plain or plated steel. It suits mechanical rooms, parking structures and similar service areas. For direct chemical exposure or wash-down duty, step up to a stainless post base rather than a coated steel one.
4) Do anchors or bolts come with the B-Line B585GRN post base?
The B585GRN is supplied as the base only. You specify and buy the floor anchors separately, along with the channel nuts or bolts that fasten the base to the B22A post, since anchor type depends on whether you are landing on concrete, steel or wood.
5) Does the B-Line B585GRN carry a UL or other listing?
No listing or certification applies to the B585GRN post base. It is a structural strut fitting, not a listed electrical device, so on a submittal it is shown as part of the support system rather than as a rated component.
