B-LINE SB200103YZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly comes in the box with the B-Line SB200103YZ support tube?
It ships pre-assembled: the steel tube, the spacer, and the mounting hardware are all included, so there is nothing extra to source to make up the assembly itself. The anchors or fasteners into the building structure are a separate item.
2) Is the yellow zinc finish on this B-Line support tube suitable for outdoor or damp locations?
The finish is yellow zinc chromate over steel, which is a corrosion-resistant plating meant for dry indoor and protected industrial environments. It is not a hot-dip galvanized or stainless part, so for exterior, washdown, or corrosive atmospheres specify a galvanized or stainless support instead.
3) What is an auxiliary support tube actually used for on an electrical job?
It is a short steel strut section used as auxiliary support, picking up load where a main run of channel or a piece of equipment needs an extra bearing point or standoff. The spacer and hardware come with it, so the electrician is bracing off an existing structural member rather than building up a full trapeze.
4) What is the correct part number to order this yellow zinc B-Line support tube?
Order by manufacturer part number SB200103YZ, B-Line (Eaton). The YZ suffix is the yellow zinc chromate finish, so if a spec calls for a plain or galvanized version that is a different catalog number.
5) How much does the B-Line SB200103YZ weigh, and is it a one-hand install?
Listed weight is 4.6 lb for the assembly. That is light enough to set by hand overhead, though a second pair of hands helps when you are holding position and driving the hardware at the same time.
6) Does the B-Line SB200103YZ support tube carry a UL listing or other certification?
No certification applies to this part. It is a plain steel support component, so if your submittal package needs a listed or labeled support item, this is not the line to satisfy it.
