B-LINE BA-2-16-7-WBN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How much weight can a B-Line acoustical tee fastener hold?
Rated at 25 lbs load capacity per fastener. That covers typical grid-mounted electrical boxes, small fixtures and low-voltage devices. For anything heavier, hang it independently from structure rather than off the ceiling grid.
2) Is the B-Line BA-2-16-7-WBN twist fastener UL listed for electrical work?
It carries a cULus Listing, which covers it for use in both US and Canadian jurisdictions. That matters on institutional and commercial jobs where the inspector wants listed support hardware on grid-mounted electrical components.
3) What stud length do these B-Line 15/16 inch twist fasteners have?
The stud is 5/8 inch long. That is the dimension to check against the thickness of whatever you are clamping to the tee, a bracket or box ear, since the stud has to pass through it and still take the nut or twist engagement.
4) Can I use these twist fasteners on drywall or hard-lid ceilings?
No. These are twist fasteners made to grip the flange of a 15/16 inch acoustical tee or t-bar. On drywall or a hard-lid ceiling there is no tee to twist onto, so you need a toggle, anchor or channel-mounted support instead.
5) Are these B-Line fasteners sold as a single piece or a pack?
The catalogued model BA-2-16-7-WBN is a fastener item with a stated product weight of .001 lb, which is a single-piece unit weight. Electrical contractors typically buy these in quantity for a grid ceiling, so order count by the number of attachment points on the drawing.
