B-LINE SB60310804TG – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many shelves and verticals does the SB60310804TG frame come with?
This configuration is built with 4 verticals and 12 shelves. Since it is double sided, that shelf count is what determines how many rows of terminal blocks you can mount, so count your block rows against 12 before you commit to this configuration instead of a taller or wider frame.
2) How heavy is this B-Line universal distribution frame, and what does that mean for floor mounting?
Shipping/product weight is 321.694 lb for the bare frame, before any terminal blocks, cross-connect wire, or shelf loading. That is a two-person-plus-equipment lift, and it is heavy enough that you want it anchored to the floor slab (and typically braced overhead) rather than free standing.
3) Should I use a double sided distribution frame or a single sided one?
Go double sided when the room has floor space in front and behind the frame and you need maximum cross-connect density per square foot, which is what this 4-vertical, 12-shelf unit is built for. A single sided frame is the better call when the frame has to sit against a wall, because you lose access to the back face entirely. Also confirm you can work both faces of a 108 inch tall frame with a ladder before choosing double sided.
4) Is the 24 inch dimension on this frame the shelf width?
Yes. The 24 inch figure is the shelf width, which is also the frame's overall width. The 37.62 inch dimension is the length/depth of the unit. If your terminal blocks or wire management need more than 24 inches of usable shelf face, this width will not take them and you need a wider shelf configuration.
5) Does this B-Line frame come with the terminal blocks installed?
No. What you get is the frame itself: verticals, shelves, and finish. The blocks, protector modules, jumper wire, and any vertical wire management or ladder rack to feed it are separate items. Plan on specifying your terminal block type and quantity against the 12 shelves before ordering.
6) What material and finish is the Eaton B-Line distribution frame?
Steel construction, specifically ASTM A36 structural steel, finished in Telco gray powder coat. A36 is a standard structural carbon steel grade, so the frame is welded/bolted structural stock rather than light formed sheet, and the gray powder coat matches typical central office and telco room hardware.
