B-LINE FTB20CTBLE – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the black Flextray hanger cULus Listed for use in a bonded cable tray system?
Yes, the FTB20CTBLE center trapeze hanger carries a cULus Listing. That matters on jobs where the inspector wants the tray support components listed alongside the tray itself rather than field-fabricated strut and threaded rod.
2) Will the black powder coat on this B-Line hanger match my existing black Flextray run?
The FTB20CTBLE is finished in flat black powder coat, the same finish Eaton uses on its black Flextray basket. If your existing run is the black powder coat Flextray, the hanger blends with it, which is the usual reason it gets specified over plated hardware in exposed ceilings, data halls, and open-plenum retail spaces.
3) What is a center trapeze hanger for on a wire basket tray run?
It supports the basket from underneath at the center of a trapeze, rather than from the sides. On a Flextray run you either hang the basket from side-mounted supports or drop threaded rod to a trapeze and set the tray on a center hanger like the FTB20CTBLE. The center hanger is the choice when you want the tray free of side obstructions, when you are stacking tiers on the same pair of rods, or when the basket needs to sit level across a wide span. It is not a wall bracket and it is not a splice, so it does not join two tray sections together.
4) Does the FTB20CTBLE come with threaded rod or mounting hardware?
What you are ordering is the steel hanger itself, model FTB20CTBLE, in flat black. The threaded rod, rod couplings, ceiling anchors, and any hardware attaching the basket to the hanger are separate items, so budget those into the same order if you are starting a new run.
