B-LINE BKT-063-40K – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the KwikWire BKT-063-40K listed for electrical work and light fixture support?
It is cULus Listed, so it's accepted for both US and Canadian installations, which is what an inspector looks for when wire rope is used to suspend lighting or electrical raceway.
2) Will the toggle end work in a solid concrete deck?
No. A toggle needs a void behind the hole so the bar can swing open and bear on the back face, which is why this version suits hollow-core slab, metal deck, or drywall-over-void conditions. For solid poured concrete you want a KwikWire assembly with a concrete anchor or eye-bolt style termination instead of the toggle.
3) What is the B-Line KwikWire BKT-063-40K toggle termination kit used for?
It's a wire rope hanging kit from the Eaton B-Line KwikWire line, supplied with a toggle termination on one end for anchoring into hollow structure such as a poured deck or hollow-core slab where you can reach through a drilled hole. The wire rope run is 40 inches long, so it suspends lighting, cable tray, strut, or ductwork that distance below the anchor point. Model BKT-063-40K.
4) Can I shorten the 40 inch KwikWire cable on site, or do I have to order the exact drop length?
Order by the length you need at or above your drop: the 40 inch kit gives you 40 inches of cable, and the gripper end of a KwikWire assembly lets you take up slack and trim the tail once the load is set. What you cannot do is make it longer, so if your ceiling-to-fixture distance exceeds 40 inches, step up to a longer wire length in the same series.
5) Is the BKT-063-40K a complete hanger or do I need to buy the gripper separately?
It ships as an assembly: the KwikWire wire rope with the toggle termination already fitted, model BKT-063-40K. What is not part of the kit is whatever attaches the bottom end to your fixture or tray, so plan on the appropriate fixture-side attachment for the item you are suspending.
