B-LINE SB561323WOCW – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the B-Line SB561323WOCW base guard box used for on an open frame rack?
It's the base guard box accessory for Eaton B-Line series open frame relay racks, formed from 14 gauge steel. It mounts at the foot of the rack to enclose and shield cable entry and wiring at the base, rather than being a rack itself. Model designation is simply "Base guard box," ordered as MPN SB561323WOCW.
2) What are the dimensions of the SB561323WOCW base guard box, and will it fit a standard 19 inch rack footprint?
Stated dimensions are 25.94 inches width, 6 inches height, and 2 inches length/depth. The 25.94 inch width spans the full outside footprint of a 19 inch EIA rack frame including the channel uprights, so measure your rack's outside-to-outside base width before ordering. Shipping weight is 7.5 lb.
3) Does the B-Line base guard box come with a receptacle cutout for a power strip or outlet?
No. The SB561323WOCW is the version without a receptacle cutout, so the steel panel is solid where a duplex or power strip opening would otherwise be. If you need to land an outlet in the base guard, you need the cutout version of the part instead.
4) Does the SB561323WOCW base guard box carry a UL listing or other certification?
No certification applies to this part. It's a formed steel guard accessory for the rack base, not an electrical device, so it isn't listed or labeled to any standard. If your specification calls for listed enclosures at the wiring point, that requirement has to be met by the enclosure or raceway, not by this guard.
5) What part number do I order to match an existing B-Line open rack base guard?
Order MPN SB561323WOCW. That is the single orderable configuration of this base guard box: 14 gauge steel, no receptacle cutout. If the guard on your existing rack has an outlet opening punched in it, it is a different part number and this one will not match.
6) Is the base guard box steel or plastic, and is it heavy enough for a data closet with foot traffic?
Steel, in 14 gauge, which is the same material family as the rack channels it bolts to. At 7.5 lb for a part only 6 inches high, it's a structural guard rather than a trim cover, so it holds up to carts and boots in a telecom or IDF closet.
