B-LINE SB862BRC3078SL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What exactly is the B-Line SB862BRC3078SL, a cable manager or just a cover?
It's the back removable cover for a B-Line Eaton RCM vertical cable manager, not the manager itself. You get the 14 gauge steel cover panel in silver powder coat plus the mounting hardware to attach it. If you need the vertical cable manager body, that's the SB860, SB862 or SB864 that this cover is used with.
2) Is the B-Line RCM back cover UL Listed for a data closet install?
Yes, it carries a UL Listed marking, which matters for AHJ sign-off in institutional and healthcare telecom rooms where every component in the pathway gets inspected.
3) Do I need to buy screws separately to mount this cover?
No. Mounting hardware ships with the cover, so nothing extra is needed to attach it to the RCM manager channel.
4) Why would I add a back cover to a vertical cable manager instead of leaving it open?
A back cover closes off the rear of the vertical manager channel so patch cords stay contained instead of spilling out behind the rack, which is the usual reason a cable plant fails a visual inspection. Because this one is removable, you can pull the cover for a large re-termination and put it back without disassembling the manager. The steel construction also stands up better to repeated removal in a high-churn MDF than a snap-on plastic panel.
5) Will this silver cover match the rest of my B-Line open rack line-up?
The finish is silver powder coat, the same finish used across the Eaton B-Line open frame rack and cable manager line, so a run of racks and managers in silver will match. If your existing frames are black, order the black version of the cover instead.
