B-LINE SB5772308FB – Frequently Asked Questions

1) How many rack units does this Eaton B-Line blank panel cover?
It covers 8 mounting spaces, which is 8 rack units. The panel height is 13.94 in, consistent with 8 spaces at the standard 1.75 in per unit. Use it to close off an 8U gap in a populated frame.
2) What mounting screws does this filler panel take?
It is drilled for #12-24 mounting hardware, matching the #12-24 tapped rails used on Eaton B-Line open frame racks. If your rack rails are tapped 10-32, the hole pattern lines up but the thread will not, so confirm the rail tapping before ordering.
3) How thick is this blank filler panel?
Panel thickness is .09 in, and the overall footprint is 23 in across by 13.94 in high. That thin section sits flush against the rack rails without eating into the front clearance you need for patch cords or cable managers.
4) Do I need a blank panel or a vented panel for empty rack spaces?
This is a solid blank panel, not vented. On an open frame rack, a blank covers unused 8U space for a finished look, keeps hands off live gear, and blocks the front-to-back air path at that opening. If you actually want airflow through the empty space, a blank is the wrong choice and you want a vented filler instead.
5) Is this an aluminum panel or steel, and how much does it weigh?
The panel is aluminum with a flat black powder coat finish, and it weighs 5.77 lb. Aluminum keeps the load on the rails low when you are filling several spaces in a floor-standing open frame.
6) Can I order this Eaton B-Line panel by part number?
Yes. The manufacturer part number is SB5772308FB, the 23 in, 8 space, flat black aluminum blank filler panel in the B-Line series open rack line. Quote that number when standardizing panels across multiple frames in a building.
