The SB596V23156AAL is a rack mounted shelf measuring 23.31 inches wide, 30 inches deep, and 6 inches high. The 23.31 inch overall width covers the standard 19 inch rack mounting width plus the mounting flanges, which is the normal dimension for a 19 inch EIA rack shelf. Check your rail-to-rail spacing against the 23.31 inch figure, and make sure you have 30 inches of clear depth behind the front rails since this is a full-depth shelf.

It mounts to the rails on both the front and the rear of an open frame rack rather than cantilevering off the front posts alone. That two-point support is what lets it carry 200 lb across a 30 inch depth. It does mean you need a rack with both front and rear mounting rails at the same 30 inch spacing, so it is not a drop-in for a two-post rack with front rails only.

The SB596V23156AAL is a solid shelf, so it gives full flat support with no cutouts. Use solid when you are setting down power supplies, battery backups, small UPS units, or equipment that does not rely on bottom-to-top airflow. If the gear sitting on it dissipates real heat and draws air through its bottom or top case, a vented shelf is the better choice. Same for anything you want to strap or cable-tie through the deck.
