B-LINE SB744M2310AL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line SB744M2310AL keyboard drawer fit a standard 19 inch open frame rack?
The SB744M2310AL shelf and sliding keyboard drawer measures 23 inches wide, which covers a 19 inch EIA rack opening plus the mounting flanges that land on the rack's uprights. Depth is 10 inches and height is 4.75 inches, so plan on roughly 10 inches of clear depth behind the front rails and a little under 3 rack units of vertical space before the drawer slides out.
2) How much weight can the B-Line SB744M2310AL rack shelf hold?
It is rated for a 200 lb load capacity. That is plenty for a keyboard, mouse and a laptop or KVM console, but it is a work surface rating, not a place to stack heavy switchgear or a UPS. Put battery packs and other dense gear on a dedicated equipment shelf low in the rack instead.
3) Does the B-Line keyboard drawer include a mouse tray, or is that ordered separately?
The mouse tray is part of the unit. The SB744M2310AL is a combination shelf with a sliding keyboard drawer and an integrated mouse tray, so you are not adding a side-mount mouse pad as a separate line item.
4) Is the B-Line SB744M2310AL drawer aluminum or steel, and will it match a brushed aluminum rack?
Aluminum construction with a brushed aluminum finish, so it matches Eaton B-Line brushed aluminum open frame racks rather than the black-finish lineup. If the rest of your rack is black, this unit will not blend in.
5) How do I order the brushed aluminum B-Line keyboard drawer with mouse tray?
Order it by Eaton B-Line part number SB744M2310AL. That single number covers the brushed aluminum shelf with the sliding keyboard drawer and mouse tray, so there is no finish or size suffix to pick.
6) Can one person mount the SB744M2310AL keyboard shelf in a rack alone?
At 20.2 lb it is a one-person install on an open frame rack, though holding it level while you start the first pair of screws is easier with a second set of hands or a temporary support bar under the front rails.
