B-LINE SB860810S066FB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What exactly is Eaton B-Line SB860810S066FB, a rack or a cable manager?
It is an RCM rack mounted vertical cable manager for Eaton B-Line series open frame racks, not the rack itself. It is the vertical channel with high density plastic fingers that mounts on the side of the rack to route and hold cable, and it ships with the vertical cable section and push in fasteners.
2) Will this vertical cable manager fit alongside a 7 foot two-post relay rack?
The manager stands 60.375 inches tall, so it covers roughly the top five feet of a 7 foot (84 inch) rack and leaves the lower section open. If you need managed cable the full height of the frame you will need a taller section or a second unit stacked below it. Footprint is 10 inches wide by 10.8125 inches deep, so allow at least 10 inches of clear aisle beside the rack upright.
3) Does this cable manager have a cover, or are the cables left exposed?
It comes with an access door and gate, so cable is enclosed and stays dressed once the door is closed rather than sitting open to the aisle. That matters in a shared or public-facing room where an open frame rack otherwise leaves every patch cord reachable.
4) Is this a one-person install, and does it need special hardware?
At 16.3 pounds it is a one-person lift, and the aluminum body is a large part of why. Push in fasteners are included, so the section attaches to the rack upright without a separate hardware kit.
5) What finish is it, and will it match black powder coat racks already in my room?
Black. The frame is aluminum with a flat black powder coat and the plastic fingers and components are black as well, so it visually matches standard black powder coat open frame racks and enclosures already in a room.
6) Which part number do I put on the purchase order for this B-Line vertical manager?
Order Eaton B-Line MPN SB860810S066FB. That number covers the black, 60.375 inch tall RCM vertical cable manager at 10 inches wide and 10.8125 inches deep.
