B-LINE SB860812S066FB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Eaton B-Line SB860812S066FB a rack or a cable manager?
It is a vertical cable manager that mounts to an open frame rack, not the rack itself. Eaton's model designation is the RCM rack mounted vertical cable manager, built with high density plastic fingers to route and hold cable bundles alongside mounted equipment.
2) How does the B-Line RCM cable manager attach, and do I need extra hardware?
Mounting is by push in fastener, and a vertical cable section is included with the unit. It is set up for direct PDU mounting, so a rack mount power strip can be fastened to it rather than eating rack units in the frame. No separate mounting kit is called out.
3) Can I mount a vertical PDU to this cable manager instead of using rack units?
Yes. Direct PDU mounting is one of its stated mounting methods, so a vertical power distribution unit bolts to the manager in the space beside the rack rails. That keeps your 19-inch mounting space free for equipment, which is the usual reason to buy a 12-inch wide vertical section.
4) What is the finish on this black B-Line vertical cable manager, and will it match existing black racks?
The frame is aluminum with a flat black powder coat, and the finger components are black plastic. It matches the standard flat black open frame racks and ladder rack in a typical MDF build rather than a gloss or textured black.
