B-LINE SB860810S078SL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line SB860810S078SL vertical cable manager fit a 7-foot open frame rack?
At 72.625 inches tall, the SB860810S078SL RCM vertical cable manager is sized for a standard 7-foot (84 inch) open frame relay rack, covering the mounting rail height rather than the full rack height. It mounts vertically alongside the rack rails and measures 10 inches wide by 10.8125 inches deep.
2) Can I mount a vertical PDU inside this B-Line cable manager?
Yes. The RCM manager supports direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU can be fastened into the manager channel rather than eating rack units in the frame. That keeps the U space free for switches and patch panels.
3) How much aisle space do I need to allow next to the rack for this cable manager?
Allow 10 inches of width per manager plus 10.8125 inches of depth. If you are ganging racks in a row with a manager between each pair, that 10 inch width is the gap you need to plan into the footprint before the racks are anchored to the floor.
4) Is this cable manager open in the back, or does it have a solid rear panel?
Open back. The design lets cable route straight out the rear at any point in the channel instead of forcing every bundle to exit at the top or bottom, which is what you want when you are dropping patch cords across to an adjacent rack. Cable retention on the front side comes from high density plastic fingers.
5) Does this ship with the hardware to attach it, or do I need separate rack screws?
The assembly includes the vertical cable section and push in fasteners, so the fingers snap into the channel without loose screws for that part. Attachment to your specific rack rails still uses rack mounting hardware appropriate to the frame you are installing on.
6) Is the B-Line SB860810S078SL UL listed for a data center or telecom room install?
Carries a UL certification, which is the listing most facility and institutional specs call for on rack mounted raceway and cable management in a telecom or equipment room.
7) Is this cable manager metal or plastic, and what is the finish?
The body is aluminum with a silver powder coat; the fingers and retention components are black plastic. Aluminum keeps the unit light for a 6-foot-plus vertical section, at 19.6 pounds, so one person can hold it in place while starting the fasteners.
