B-LINE SB860812S090SL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is model SB860812S090SL a cable manager or an actual equipment rack?
It is a vertical cable manager, part number SB860812S090SL, from the Eaton B-Line open frame rack family. It mounts to the rack rather than being the rack itself, and uses high density plastic fingers to hold and route cable bundles along the rack face.
2) Can I mount a PDU inside this vertical cable manager?
Yes, direct PDU mounting is supported, so a vertical power strip can be secured inside the manager channel instead of eating rack units on the front face. That is the usual reason to pick a 12 inch wide manager over a narrower one.
3) How do the cables get from the vertical manager across to the rack?
The manager is built with pass through openings for cable routing, so jumpers cross from the vertical channel into the rack at any height rather than only at the top or bottom. That keeps patch cord slack managed without running cable around the outside of the frame.
4) Does the B-Line RCM cable manager need separate mounting hardware?
No extra hardware kit is required. It ships with the vertical cable section and push in fasteners, so it attaches to the rack without threaded hardware for the section itself.
5) Will the silver finish match my existing aluminum B-Line racks?
The body is aluminum with a silver powder coat finish, and the finger and trim components are black plastic. If your existing racks are silver or clear aluminum, it blends; if you standardized on black racks, this one will not match.
6) Is this cable manager UL listed for a data room install?
UL certification is carried on this Eaton B-Line RCM vertical cable manager, which is what most institutional and government spec sheets call for on rack accessories in a telecom or data room.
