B-LINE SB860810S090SL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the B-Line SB860810S090SL vertical cable manager fit alongside a standard 7-foot open frame rack?
Yes. The Eaton B-Line RCM vertical cable manager measures 84.875 inches high, which matches the height of a full 7-foot (84 inch nominal) open frame relay rack. Footprint is 10 inches wide by 10.8125 inches deep, so plan for roughly 10 inches of aisle-side space beside the rack upright.
2) Can I mount a vertical PDU inside this B-Line cable manager?
Yes. The RCM vertical cable manager is set up for direct PDU mounting, so a vertical rack PDU can be fastened inside the channel rather than eating rack units in the frame. That keeps the power strip out of the mounting rails and in the same vertical run as the cable bundles.
3) Is this cable manager open at the back so I can route cable through to a ladder rack or wall?
It is. The design uses an open back for unrestricted cable routing, so bundles can pass straight out of the channel toward overhead ladder rack, a wall field, or the adjacent rack instead of being trapped in a closed duct.
4) What holds the cables in place, and do I need extra hardware to install it?
Cable retention is by high density plastic fingers, and the unit ships with the vertical cable section and push in fasteners, so you are not sourcing separate mounting screws for the cable section itself. Fingers are black plastic against a silver powder coat aluminum body.
5) Is this B-Line cable manager UL listed for a data center or institutional build?
UL is the certification carried on the SB860810S090SL cable manager, which is what most facility and institutional specs call for on rack-mounted electrical infrastructure.
6) How heavy is this vertical cable manager, and is it a one-person install?
At 22.7 lb the aluminum RCM manager is light for its 84.875 inch length. One tech can handle the weight, but a second set of hands helps steady a nearly 7-foot channel while the push in fasteners are seated.
7) Will this match the finish on existing silver open frame racks in my room?
Finish is silver powder coat over aluminum with black plastic fingers, the same silver used across Eaton B-Line series open frame racks, so it blends with an existing silver rack lineup rather than standing out as a mismatched black duct.
8) What exact part number do I order for the 10 inch wide B-Line vertical cable manager?
Order Eaton B-Line MPN SB860810S090SL. That is the silver, 10 inch wide by 10.8125 inch deep, 84.875 inch tall RCM vertical cable manager with plastic fingers.
