B-LINE SB862812D108SL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Eaton B-Line SB862812D108SL an open frame rack or an enclosed cabinet?
It's an open frame rack, part of the Eaton B-Line series of open frame racks. There are no side panels, doors, or a roof; equipment mounts to the frame and stays fully exposed for airflow and cable access. If you need lockable, dust-resistant enclosure of the gear, an open frame rack is the wrong choice and you want an enclosed cabinet instead.
2) What floor space does this Eaton B-Line open rack take up?
Footprint is 14 inches deep by 12 inches wide. That is a narrow, shallow frame, so plan on anchoring it to the floor and allow working clearance front and rear for terminations and patching.
3) Can one person handle installing this B-Line open frame rack?
The frame weighs 29.7 lb, so the steel itself is a one-person lift. The awkward part is the length, at 102.375 inches, not the mass. Two people make raising it upright and holding plumb while you anchor the base far easier.
