B-LINE SB860812D108SL – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the B-Line SB860812D108SL a rack or a vertical cable manager?
It is a vertical cable manager, not an open frame rack itself. The model designation is an RCM rack mounted vertical cable manager, double sided, and it bolts onto the rack rails to route cable up and down the side of the frame. Dimensions are 12 in wide, 21.625 in deep and 102.375 in high, with a product weight of 77.1 lb.
2) Can I mount a vertical PDU inside this cable manager?
Yes. Direct PDU mounting is a stated mounting method, so a vertical rack PDU can be fixed inside the channel and run alongside the cable bundles rather than eating rack units in the frame.
3) Does this cable manager have doors or gates on both sides?
Both sides. It is a double sided manager with gates on the front and the rear, giving double cable capacity and letting you drop patch cords in from either the front or the back of the rack without threading them through.
4) What hardware comes with the B-Line SB860812D108SL cable manager?
Push in fasteners and a cable strap mount ship with it. You will still need the rack itself and any hook and loop or strap material you want to bundle with, plus mounting hardware appropriate to your frame's rail pattern.
5) Is this cable manager metal or plastic, and will it match a silver rack?
The body is aluminum with a silver powder coat, and the gates and trim are black plastic components. It is a low density plastic gate style. Silver finish lines up with standard clear or silver anodized open frame racks; it will not match a black rack lineup.
6) Is this B-Line cable manager UL listed for a data center or institutional install?
UL is the stated certification on the SB860812D108SL, which is what most facility and government specs call for on rack mounted cable management and PDU support.
