B-LINE SB114605NYL – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What bolt size does the B-Line SB114605NYL nylon sleeve kit fit?
The Eaton B-Line nylon headed sleeve kit is sized for 3/8"-16 hardware, which is the common thread on open frame rack mounting bolts. The sleeve isolates the bolt from the rack panel or equipment flange; it is not a fastener on its own, so you still supply the 3/8"-16 bolt and nut.
2) What is the sleeve length on the B-Line SB114605NYL, and will it clear a thicker mounting flange?
The sleeve measures .419 in, with an overall kit footprint of .88 in by .06 in stated for the other axes. Since .419 in is the full sleeve length, any panel or flange thicker than that will not allow the shoulder to seat, so measure your stack-up before ordering.
3) Is this nylon sleeve kit conductive, or does it electrically isolate the bolt?
It is molded nylon, a non-conductive material, so it breaks the metal-to-metal path between a 3/8"-16 bolt and the rack member. That is the reason these sleeves are specified on open frame racks where grounding is controlled at one point rather than through every mounting bolt.
4) Does the B-Line nylon sleeve kit come with a washer, or do I have to order that separately?
A sleeve washer is included with the kit. That matters on rack builds where you are electrically isolating the bolt head from the panel, since the sleeve alone will not cover the bearing surface. Bolts and nuts are separate.
5) Can I use these nylon sleeves on a rack that isn't an Eaton B-Line?
Fit is by hardware size, not by rack brand. The sleeve is built around 3/8"-16 bolts and runs .419 in long, so it will work on any open frame rack using that bolt size with a mounting hole and flange thickness inside those dimensions. Eaton B-Line open frame racks are the stated application.
6) How do I order the B-Line nylon headed sleeve kit and what part number should I quote?
Quote Eaton B-Line part number SB114605NYL. It is supplied as a kit, sleeve plus sleeve washer, in nylon, natural. Weight is listed at .001 lb per piece, so plan to order in the quantity your rack build needs rather than by weight.
7) What color is the B-Line SB114605NYL sleeve kit?
Natural is the finish on the nylon sleeve, the unpigmented off-white you get from raw nylon. If you are trying to match a painted black rack cosmetically, know that these will be visible at the bolt head.
8) Does the B-Line nylon sleeve kit carry any listing or certification?
Certifications are marked Not Applicable for this nylon sleeve kit. It is an isolating hardware accessory rather than a rated electrical component, so specifying it does not add or affect a listing on the rack assembly.
