Two mount spaces are required for this shelf. The shelf itself is 2 inches high, so plan on 2U of usable rail space and account for the mounting holes above and below whatever you install next to it.

It is punched for #12-24 mounting hardware, which is the thread B-Line open frame racks are tapped for. If your rack rails are tapped 10-32 instead, or you are working with square-hole cage nut rails, the hole size will take the screw but you need to match the thread of the rack, not the shelf.

A center mount shelf like this one bolts to the two rails of an open frame rack and supports the load from that single plane, which suits two-post telecom and network racks. If you are equipping a four-post enclosure with front and rear mounting rails, or setting heavy deep equipment like a large UPS, a front-and-rear supported shelf is the better fit. For a 200 lb load on a two-post open rack, this is the correct type.

Steel construction with a silver powder coat. The silver coat is the standard B-Line rack color, so it matches silver powder coat open frame racks and accessories in the same series. Black-finished racks will show a mismatch.

The shelf weighs 15.6 lb. One person can set it and start the screws, though on a loaded rack it is easier with a second set of hands holding it level while the #12-24 screws go in.
