B-LINE SB562323YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Eaton B-Line SB562323YZ bumper rail and what does it do on an open frame rack?
SB562323YZ is a steel bumper rail accessory for Eaton B-Line series open frame relay racks. It mounts across the rack to act as a physical bump stop, protecting cabling and mounted equipment from knocks. It is a component, not a complete rack, so it is ordered in addition to the rack itself.
2) Is the yellow zinc finish on this B-Line rack bumper rail suitable for a data room or an unfinished plant area?
The rail is steel with a yellow zinc chromate finish. That plating is a corrosion-resistant coating typical of indoor equipment rack hardware, fine for conditioned telecom and data rooms and dry industrial spaces. It is not a powder coat, so if you are matching a black powder coated rack cosmetically, the yellow zinc will stand out.
3) What part number do I give my distributor for the B-Line yellow zinc rack bumper rail?
Order it by Eaton B-Line part number SB562323YZ. The YZ suffix identifies the yellow zinc chromate finish version.
4) How much does the B-Line SB562323YZ bumper rail weigh for a one-person install?
Five pounds. At that weight and 25.94 in long, one electrician can hold it in place and start the fasteners without a second set of hands or a lift.
5) Does the B-Line SB562323YZ bumper rail carry any listing or certification?
No certification applies to this part. It is a mechanical steel accessory with no electrical function, so there is nothing to list. Listings on your installation come from the rack, the grounding, and the equipment mounted in it.
