B-LINE SB118AYZ – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What comes in the box with the B-Line SB118AYZ wire support bracket assembly?
The SB118AYZ ships as a complete assembly: the bracket, 1/4-20 hardware, post, clip, and wires are all included. For most installs you only need to supply the anchor into the structure or the mounting point on the runway itself.
2) Is the SB118AYZ wire support bracket UL Listed for use in a data center or telecom room?
Yes, the B-Line SB118AYZ carries a UL Listed marking, which is normally the first thing an inspector or a facility spec asks for on cable runway accessories. If your drawing calls out a UL Listed support for the runway, this meets that line.
3) Will the yellow zinc finish on this B-Line bracket hold up, or do I need something else for a damp area?
The SB118AYZ is built from ASTM A569 and A513 steel with a yellow zinc plating. Yellow zinc is a dry indoor finish, which is what runway accessories in equipment rooms and data closets normally see. For a wet, washdown, or exterior location you want a hot dip galvanized or stainless support instead of a zinc plated one.
4) What is this B-Line SB118AYZ bracket actually used for on a cable runway?
It is a wire support bracket assembly, part of the Eaton B-Line runway accessory line. It mounts to the runway and carries cable off to the side or below the tray, keeping bundles supported and off equipment rather than draped over the stringer. It is a support accessory, not a runway section or a splice kit, so you order it in addition to the ladder rack itself.
5) Do I need to buy separate 1/4-20 bolts and nuts to mount this bracket?
No. The 1/4-20 hardware ships with the SB118AYZ, which is the standard thread B-Line uses across its runway hardware, so you are not sourcing loose fasteners to complete the attachment. The only thing you supply is whatever anchors the runway or the bracket back to the building structure.
6) What is the exact part number to order this B-Line wire support bracket?
Order it as B-Line (Eaton) SB118AYZ. The AYZ suffix is the yellow zinc plated version, and the assembly is sold complete with the 1/4-20 hardware, post, clip, and wires.
