B-LINE SB2261512YZ – Frequently Asked Questions
1) How tall does the B-Line SB2261512YZ floor support hold cable runway off the slab?
The SB2261512YZ is a 12 inch floor runway support, so it sets the runway one foot above the floor. Overall it measures 12 in height, 15 in width and 18.75 in length/depth, and it weighs 3.4 lb.
2) Is this B-Line support UL Listed for a data center cable runway installation?
Yes, the runway support carries a UL Listed marking, which is what most spec sections and inspectors want to see on runway support hardware in a telecom or equipment room.
3) Is the yellow zinc finish on this Eaton B-Line runway support OK for outdoor or damp locations?
Yellow zinc plating over ASTM A36 structural steel is an indoor finish. It suits data centers, telecom rooms and equipment rooms; for exterior runs or wet, corrosive areas you want a hot dip galvanized or stainless support instead.
4) What is a floor-mounted runway support used for versus hanging the runway from the ceiling?
A floor support like this one carries the cable runway from below, bolted to the slab, which is the approach when the ceiling structure is unavailable or you want the runway height set independently of it. The B-Line application is supporting cable runway from objects. Where the deck is usable, threaded rod drops with hanger hardware are the alternative, and they keep the floor clear underneath.
5) Does the B-Line SB2261512YZ come with floor anchors or runway attachment bolts?
What you order is the support itself, model SB2261512YZ in yellow zinc. Concrete anchors for the slab and the hardware tying the runway stringer to the support are separate line items, so add them to the order if you do not already stock them.
6) Which exact part number do I order for the 12 inch yellow zinc B-Line floor runway support?
Order Eaton B-Line part SB2261512YZ. The YZ suffix is the yellow zinc finish and the 12 is the 12 inch support height.
7) Is ASTM A36 steel strong enough for a loaded cable runway support?
ASTM A36 is the standard structural carbon steel grade used for framing and support members, so it is the expected material for runway support work rather than a light-duty formed bracket. This support is A36 with a yellow zinc plating.
