The B-Line N225WOYZN channel nut is tapped 1/2"-13, so it accepts 1/2 inch all-thread rod or 1/2"-13 hex bolts. If your hanger rod is 3/8"-16 or 1/4"-20, this is the wrong nut.

Two numbers matter here. Pull out strength is 250 lbs, which is the force it takes to pull the nut out of the channel lips. Slip strength is 1500 lbs, which is how much load it takes to make the nut slide along the channel once it is torqued. For a hanger rod pulling straight down out of overhead strut, the 250 lb pull out figure is the one that governs.

No spring on this one. It is the plain, without-spring version, so it will not hold itself in position in the channel while you thread the rod in. You set it in the strut and hold it by hand or start the rod from below. On overhead runs where you need a third hand, the spring version of the same nut is the easier install.

It measures 2 in length, 1.31 in width, and .85 in height. The 1.31 inch width is the dimension that matters: it turns into the lips of 1-5/8 inch strut channel, which is the standard B-Line/Unistrut profile. Each nut weighs .116 lb.

Yellow zinc chromate over steel is an indoor, dry-location finish. It gives light corrosion protection for interior mechanical and electrical work, not for exterior, wash-down, or coastal exposure. For those, spec a hot dip galvanized or stainless channel nut instead.

That is what it is built for. The N225WOYZN is a steel channel nut tapped 1/2"-13 for all threaded rod, used to pick up trapeze hangers, conduit racks, and pipe supports off strut channel. Keep the rod load under the 250 lb pull out rating per nut.

The nut is sold on its own. You supply the 1/2 inch all-thread rod or 1/2"-13 bolt, and the strut channel it drops into. Since there is no spring in this version, there is no captive hold in the channel, so plan for a helper or a start-from-below sequence on overhead work.
