B-LINE B718-3ZN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What channel does the Eaton B-Line B718-3ZN universal junction box mount to?
The B718-3ZN mounts to Eaton B-Line B22, B24 and B26 strut channel. If your run uses a different channel profile, this kit is not the one to order.
2) What comes in the B-Line B718-3ZN kit, or do I need to buy the clamps separately?
The kit ships as one B718 junction box body with three B719 pieces, so you are not buying the mounting components as a separate line item. Order one kit per box location.
3) What are the dimensions of the B-Line B718-3ZN junction box?
Figure 2.5 in height, 5.62 in length/depth and 1.62 in width when you are laying out clearance around a strut run or a ceiling grid. It weighs 2.55 lb, light enough for a single-point strut mount.
4) Is the B718-3ZN box galvanized or plated, and will it hold up in a damp mechanical room?
It is steel with an electro-plated zinc finish. That suits dry and normally damp indoor service such as mechanical rooms and warehouse ceilings. For continuous wet, corrosive or exterior exposure, specify a hot-dip or stainless version of the strut accessory instead.
5) Why use a strut-mounted universal junction box instead of a standard 4-square box on a bracket?
A universal junction box like the B718 attaches directly to B22, B24 or B26 channel, so the box rides the strut run without a separate bracket or drilled plate. If your box is landing on drywall, wood framing or concrete rather than a strut trapeze, a conventional 4-square box with a standard bracket is the simpler buy.
6) What part number do I order for the B-Line strut universal junction box in zinc?
Order Eaton B-Line B718-3ZN. The ZN suffix is the electro-plated zinc finish, and the 3 reflects the three B719 pieces packed with the B718 box.
