B-LINE B340GRN – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What does the B-Line B340GRN two hole splice plate actually do in a strut run?
The B340GRN is a flat two hole steel splice plate used to join two lengths of strut end to end, or to tie a fitting to strut, using two bolt-and-nut sets through the plate into the strut channel. It measures 3.25 inches long by 1.62 by 1.62 inches, so it bridges the joint over a short span rather than acting as a bracket or angle. With two holes it resists pull-apart along the run; for a joint that also has to take twist or offset load, a four hole plate or an angle fitting is the better choice.
2) Does the B340GRN splice plate come with bolts and nuts?
No hardware is included. The B340GRN is the plate alone, .34 lb of steel with two holes. You will need two channel nuts (spring nuts or plain) and two hex bolts sized for your strut to make the connection, ordered separately.
3) What is DURA GREEN finish and where can I use it?
DURA GREEN is Eaton B-Line's green coating applied over the steel plate. It is a painted/coated finish for general indoor and sheltered industrial use where you want corrosion protection and a color match to green-finished strut and fittings. For continuously wet, washdown, or coastal exposure, specify a hot dip galvanized or stainless splice plate instead.
4) I need to match green strut fittings already installed in my building, is this the same family?
Yes. The B340GRN is part of the Eaton B-Line strut fittings and accessories line in the DURA GREEN finish, so it matches other green B-Line strut fittings on an existing run. Order by MPN B340GRN to keep the finish consistent across openings and racks.
5) Does this B-Line splice plate carry a UL listing or seismic rating?
The B340GRN is supplied as a plain steel fitting with a DURA GREEN finish and no rating or listing is attached to it. Where an inspector wants a rated or listed seismic bracing component, specify a fitting from a listed bracing system rather than a general purpose splice plate.
